PCIe 4.0 x1 Male to U.2 SFF-8639 SSD Extension Cable

The PCIe 4.0 x1 Male to U.2 SFF-8639 SSD Extension Cable is a high-performance interface conversion solution designed to connect PCIe 4.0 x1 host interfaces to U.2 SFF-8639 SSD devices. This cable features a PCIe 4.0 x1 male connector on one end and a U.2 SFF-8639 (also known as SFF-8639) connector on the other end, enabling seamless connectivity between PCIe-based systems and U.2 NVMe SSDs. Engineered for reliability and signal integrity, this cable supports high-speed data transfer while providing power delivery to the SSD, making it ideal for storage expansion, server upgrades, and enterprise applications where U.2 SSD compatibility is required.

Features

  • Interface Conversion: Converts PCIe 4.0 x1 male interface to U.2 SFF-8639 SSD interface.
  • High-Speed Performance: Supports PCIe 4.0 specifications with data transfer rates up to 16 GT/s (2 GB/s per lane for x1).
  • Integrated Power Delivery: Provides power to U.2 SSDs through the SFF-8639 connector (12V/5V/3.3V support).
  • Enhanced Compatibility: Compatible with U.2 NVMe SSDs and supports PCIe 4.0/3.0/2.0 protocols.
  • Secure Connection: Precision-engineered connectors ensure reliable mating and stable operation.
  • Durable Construction: High-quality materials and shielding ensure longevity and repeated use.
  • Plug-and-Play Operation: Requires no additional drivers or software for installation.

Compatibility Notes

This cable is designed for connecting U.2 SFF-8639 NVMe SSDs to PCIe 4.0 x1 host interfaces. The U.2 SFF-8639 connector is a universal interface that supports NVMe PCIe drives and is also compatible with SATA, SAS, and other protocols through the same physical interface. Ensure the host system’s PCIe slot supports PCIe 4.0 or earlier versions (3.0/2.0) for backward compatibility. The cable provides integrated power delivery, eliminating the need for separate power connectors for the SSD. Note that PCIe 4.0 x1 bandwidth may limit the maximum performance of high-speed U.2 NVMe SSDs (e.g., PCIe 4.0 x1 theoretical bandwidth is ~2 GB/s, while a PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD can reach ~8 GB/s). Verify SSD power requirements, as some U.2 SSDs may require additional power beyond what the PCIe slot provides. This cable is not suitable for SAS or SATA drives that rely solely on SATA/SAS protocols without PCIe NVMe support.

Note: All specifications adhere to PCI-SIG PCIe 4.0 standards and SFF-8639 specifications, ensuring interoperability with U.2 NVMe SSDs and PCIe-based systems.
